It was indeed a great day to be a Rotarian. We are working around our new schedule and even with a few stumbles with service and set up; President Jason is leading us into a grand new era of Sunrise Rotary.
We welcomed John Black, Executive Director of the BEAST Foundation. They built a brand new facility that will celebrate their grand opening next week. BEAST stands for Bring Enrichment and Sports Together. In their 22,000 square foot facility they offer after school programs that focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), summer camps, senior classes such as Zumba, Tai Chi, Movement and Relaxation and Pickleball, and banquet facilities. So much more…. This was all privately funded. What a great addition to the Cheyenne community.
Our hearts go out to fellow member Tim Joannides with the loss of his beautiful mother Jennie who passed away on September 18. Jennie presented to us several years ago on WWII and the bombing of Pearl Harbor. What an amazing woman, she will be missed.
Congratulations to Paul and Beth Howard – another new grand baby to love.
Congratulations to Kevin and Darcy Guile for being awarded the 2018 Angels of Adoption this week in Washington, DC. We are truly honored to call you our friends and know that there are so many children waiting to be loved. The three babies you have taken under your wings – have been blessed. Thank you for changing the world with kindness, compassion and love.
