Dear Rotarians in District 5440
As we approach the 2013-2014 Rotary Year incoming District Governor Julie Phares would like you to think of how you can Engage Rotary Change Lives this coming year!  Participate in a new club project, invite a guest to attend a meeting or special event and share your "Rotary Moment" with them to inspire them to become a Rotarian.  We all know lives change when Rotarians are engaged!
A few informational items for you as begin the year.  Incoming DG Julie Phares will begin her club visits in July and her schedule along with District goals, the District directory, etc. can be found online under the Administration and Communication tabs located on the top toolbar of our website's homepage.
In addition, our Rotary Peace Coordinator for the District, Debbie Mueller, wants to begin work on the 2014 Peace Forum for the District and  would like feedback from Rotarians around our District.  Please take a moment to complete her survey using this link:
Programs like RLI and Club Visioning will continue into this coming Rotary year.  If you are interested in attending an RLI course watch for the monthly "Upcoming Events and Important Dates" email blast for courses scheduled near you.  If you are interested in seeing your club complete or re-visit your club's vision plan please contact Billie Addleman, the District's Club Visioning Chair to get a date scheduled.
Finally, "The Peak" Newsletter will continue the same format as the last few years so if your club is interested in submitting an article of a project completed or fundraiser you're involved in please send that article (along with 1 or 2 photos) to me by the 25th of any given month.  As an FYI, the July newsletter will be delayed in distribution until mid-July so there is still time to submit articles for July!  Send those articles to me by July 10 and I'll be sure they are included in the first edition of the 2013-2014 "The Peak"!
Have a fabulous summer!
Yours in Rotary,
Kellie Tovar
